1 John 4:7 KJV
Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God;
and everyone that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
Bringing the love of Christ to
and surrounding communities.
Sand Lake Baptist Church was built in 1805 as the first union meeting house established for Protestant worship. In addition, it is Sand Lake's oldest public building. We are proud to say that Sand Lake Baptist Church played an important role in freeing slaves as a member of the Underground Railroad.
Today, we continue to serve Sand Lake and our surrounding communities in various ways, all while maintaining worship through God’s inerrant word in the King James Bible.

Sunday Morning Service
Sand Lake Baptist Church would like to thank everyone who attended our Pie & Praise service!
The Lord blessed us greatly with many members from several area churches visiting us, sharing testimony, singing praises, bringing pies and enjoying wonderful fellowship!
In addition to our regular and visiting attendees, we enjoyed fellowship with several (current and former) pastors of various local churches. Many people shared moving testimony and praised the Lord! Deacon Russ’ program of scripture, music, testimony and a short message was both meaningful, and enjoyable. He even presented an opportunity for anyone to give themselves to the Lord if they so chose.
We were blessed to have our first and last hymns accompanied with wonderful piano playing by Lydia Cassavaugh, of West Stephentown Baptist Church. The choir from West Stephentown Baptist also enchanted us with two hymns, one a cappella and the other with musical accompaniment. Gary Blauvelt and his wife, Joyce, delighted us with Gary’s guitar playing and Joyce’s singing. The entire congregation of Sand Lake Baptist Church wishes to thank Lydia, the West Stephentown Baptist Church Choir and Gary & Joyce for the fine evening of music they gave us!
For the pie and fellowship portion of our evening, we enjoyed appetizers of cheese & crackers and a fruit tray. A delicious pot of homemade Hamburger Soup was a fabulous way to warm up after that very cold evening. The large variety of pies that graced our tables included the traditional Apple, Pumpkin, Chocolate Pudding, Banana Cream and Pecan. Some of the less traditional, but equally delicious pies were: Sour Cream Raisin, Coconut Cream, Key Lime, Blueberry, Eggnog, Apple Crumb, Cherry, Peach and Apple-Walnut-Caramel. We even adored some delightful Portuguese milk tarts! SLBC would like to thank everyone who made pies and other food!
Sand Lake Baptist was abundantly blessed all evening with music, testimony, praise to our Lord, pie and hours of wonderful fellowship! We very much look forward to our next opportunity to invite local churches to our Afterglow service on January 14th at 6 PM.
The audio portion of the service can be listened to on our "2023 Sermons" page.
